Ranking, checked October 2026
The best 3D software for planning a wedding space, compared from vendor pages
By VenuePreview, Publisher · Facts checked 2026-10-13
For a wedding space in 3D, Prismm is the strongest pick on what vendors publish: it has a wedding page, designs in 2D and 3D, and starts at $0, though photo-realistic 3D rendering is an Enterprise feature. Social Tables suits planners and venues already using Cvent, Vectorworks Spotlight leads on lighting, and RoomSketcher is the lowest-cost way to walk through a room you have drawn. Home design tools such as Planner 5D, Homestyler, Floorplanner and SketchUp can model a hall, but none of them mentions weddings.
VenuePreview wrote this ranking. VenuePreview sells AI visualizations of a couple's own venue, which is a different job from 3D design software, so it is listed under considered, not ranked.

What 3D wedding planning software is for
3D wedding planning software lets you rebuild a ceremony or reception space as a digital room, place tables, chairs, a stage or an arch in it, and then look at the result from different angles or walk through it on screen. The tools split into two families. Event diagramming platforms such as Prismm and Social Tables start from floor plans and seating, and treat 3D as a view of the event layout. Home design tools such as Planner 5D, Homestyler, Floorplanner, RoomSketcher and SketchUp start from walls and furniture, and were built for houses rather than banquet halls.
Both families ask the same thing of you: someone has to get the room into the software, by scanning it, drawing it or uploading a plan, and then place each object. That effort is the real price of 3D, and it is why the method below weighs how the space gets in as heavily as what the software costs.
How we compared
This is a desk comparison. We read each vendor's own homepage, product pages and pricing pages on 13 October 2026, recorded what they say in our competitor fact file, and ranked the tools on those statements only. We did not create accounts, start trials or test output, so nothing here is a judgement of image quality. Where a vendor contradicts itself, both versions are shown.
The buyer we ranked for is a couple, or the person helping them, who wants a walk-around view of a wedding space before the day. Vendor statements about user counts and ratings are not used.
Wedding and event focus
Does the vendor's own page talk about weddings, events, tables and seating, or only about homes?
How the space gets in
Do I need a scan, a floor plan from the venue, or hours of drawing walls before I see anything?
Where 3D sits in the price list
Is the 3D view or render on the plan I would actually buy, or only on an enterprise tier?
Commitment
Can I use it for one wedding, or does it need a monthly plan or a 12-month contract?
Skill required
Is this a drag and drop planner or a professional CAD editor?
The ranking
Prismm
Prismm is the only tool on this list with a page written for weddings. Its wedding page says you can design floor plans, arrange seating, manage guest lists and collaborate with couples, and it describes photorealistic 3D virtual tours and a 3D digital twin of the space. Prismm is now part of Cvent, and its plan grid is sold as Cvent Event Diagramming. It ranks first because it combines a wedding focus, 2D and 3D design in one place, and a public price list with a $0 starting tier.
- Design in 2D, 3D or both, with floor plan templates and real time collaboration in the cloud
- A wedding page covering floor plans, seating charts, guest lists and collaboration with couples
- 3D scanning recommended as the first move after venue selection, or a layout built from the venue address, dimensions and walls
- Homepage mentions table setting design and 10,000 furniture and design objects
- 3D rendering is listed only on the Enterprise plan, and the FAQ calls Photo-Realistic 3D a customized add-on
- Decor coverage on the floor planning page is limited to linen colors; florals, centerpieces and lighting are not mentioned
- The free tier is described two ways: 3 events and 2 diagrams in the plan table, but all Pro features for 1 event in the FAQ
Price: Free $0 (1 user, 3 events, 2 diagrams per event); Standard $49/month or $480/year; Pro $150/month or $1,500/year; Premium $320/month or $3,500/year; Enterprise custom; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Social Tables
Social Tables now calls itself Cvent Event Diagramming, a collaborative event design platform for planners and venues. It offers photo-realistic 3D and interactive floor plans, a photo-realistic 3D walkthrough of the event space, and visual seating charts with meal management. It shares a plan grid with Prismm. It ranks second because its 3D views are built for events, but its homepage does not mention weddings or couples, and every paid plan carries a 12-month commitment.
- Photo-Realistic 3D and interactive floor plans, plus a 3D walkthrough of the event space
- Visual seating charts and simple meal management
- Separate plans for planners and for venues, with professionally drawn floor plans on venue Pro and Premium
- All paid plans have a 12-month commitment
- 3D rendering appears only on Enterprise plans
- Decor rendering and real venue photos are not mentioned
Price: Planner plans: Free $0 (1 user, 3 events, 2 diagrams per event); Standard $49/month; Pro $150/month; Premium $320/month; Enterprise custom; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Vectorworks Spotlight
Vectorworks Spotlight is professional CAD software for lighting, stage, scenic and event design. Its event design section covers seating and table layouts with 3D renderings alongside 2D, and lighting can be checked in live rendering modes. Weddings are not mentioned, and the product page shows no price. It ranks third because no other tool here treats lighting this seriously in 3D, which matters for an evening reception, but it is a professional editor that you or a hired designer must learn.
- Lighting, scenic, stage and event design in one CAD application
- Event seating and table layouts with 3D renderings alongside 2D drawings
- Live rendering modes for checking lighting
- No price on the product page, only Buy Now and Free Trial buttons; purchase goes through distributors
- Decor such as linens and florals is not specifically mentioned, and weddings are not mentioned
- You build the scene yourself in a professional editor; no photo upload is described
Price: No price shown on the vendor pages reviewed; purchase via distributors; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
RoomSketcher
RoomSketcher builds 2D and 3D floor plans from a drawing, a traced or uploaded plan, an ordered redraw, or a LiDAR phone scan. Its AI Render creates images from any angle of your own model, and the Pro plan adds Live 3D walkthroughs and 360 views. It does not mention weddings, events or venues. It ranks fourth because a couple who can get the venue's floor plan can walk through a 3D version of the room for a modest monthly price, though every table and arch has to be placed by hand.
- Floor plans by drawing, tracing, AI Convert of an uploaded plan or a LiDAR phone capture
- AI Render from any angle of your model, with interior styles and custom prompts
- Live 3D walkthrough and 360 views on Pro
- No mention of weddings, events, venues or event seating layouts
- Rendering starts from the model you build, not from an uploaded room photo
- Free plan 3D snapshots are watermarked
Price: Free $0 (2 credits to start); Pro $12/mo billed annually or $24/mo billed monthly; Team $35/mo billed annually or $70/mo monthly; USD excluding tax; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Planner 5D
Planner 5D is a 2D and 3D house design tool with a furniture library of over 8,000 items, AI floor plan recognition and AI-powered 3D rendering. It runs on the web, iOS, Android, Windows and macOS. Weddings and events are not mentioned. It ranks fifth because its catalog and platforms make it easy to start, and 360 walkthroughs exist on the Professional plan, but it is designed around homes, so reception furniture and decor will be approximations.
- 2D and 3D design on web, iOS, Android, Windows and macOS
- AI floor plan recognition and AI-powered 3D rendering
- Standard renders on Premium; unlimited 4K renders, 360 walkthroughs and panoramas on Professional
- Weddings and events are not mentioned, and redesigning an uploaded room photo is not described
- The Premium price appears two ways on the same page: $4.99 a month in the headline, $19.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the offer text
- The free plan includes half of the furniture catalog and lists no renders
Price: Free $0; Premium $59.99 annually or $19.99 per month (headline shows $4.99 month); Professional $399.99 annually or $49.99 per month; Enterprise custom; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Homestyler
Homestyler is a 3D interior design platform with a 2D to 3D workflow and cloud rendering. Its AI tools include Image to Image restyling and Image or Text to 3D, which turns a photo into a 3D model. The free Basic plan includes unlimited 1K renders. Weddings and events are not mentioned. It ranks sixth because renders are inexpensive and the photo to 3D tool is an interesting shortcut, but nothing on its pages addresses event furniture, tables or ceremony setups.
- 2D to 3D design with built-in cloud rendering, on web, iOS and Android
- AI Image to Image restyling and Image or Text to 3D
- Unlimited 1K renders on the free Basic plan; 2K and 4K renders cost Coins
- Weddings and events are not mentioned
- AI credits are limited: 3 in total on Basic, with 10 to 25 credits per AI action
- Prices are shown with $ and no currency code
Price: Basic free; Pro+ starts from $6.8/month; Master+ starts from $11.8/month; Team starts from $19.6/seat/month; Enterprise custom; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Floorplanner
Floorplanner is a browser floor planner and 3D room planner: you draw rooms, move walls and add doors and windows to build a digital twin of a space, then view it in real-time 3D or order renders up to 8K. Credits are sold in one-time packs, so a single wedding project does not need a subscription. The homepage lists personal use, real estate, interior design and retail, not events. It ranks seventh because the pay-per-project route suits a one-off wedding, but its subscription prices did not display when checked.
- Real-time 3D view of a room you draw yourself
- Renders in SD, HD, 4K and 8K, priced per project in credits
- One-time credit packs alongside Basic, Plus and Pro subscriptions
- Events, weddings, photo-to-design and AI styling are not mentioned
- Free exports are SD only and watermarked
- Subscription prices showed as $0.00 placeholders on the pricing page, so only credit packs could be read
Price: Free for casual use (5 projects, SD watermarked exports); credit packs 5 for $8.15, 10 for $16.30, 30 for $48.90, 100 for $163.00; subscription prices not readable; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
SketchUp
SketchUp, sold by Trimble, is general-purpose 3D modeling software for web, iPad and desktop. You build every model yourself in its editor, and the Studio plan adds V-Ray for photorealistic visuals on Windows. Its pricing page does not mention weddings, events or a photo restyle feature, and there is no free plan for general users. It ranks last for this buyer because it can model anything, including a custom arch or stage, but it asks the most skill and offers no event shortcuts.
- 3D modeling on web, iPad and desktop
- V-Ray rendering included on the Studio plan (desktop, Windows only)
- A scan-to-3D plan, Pro Scan, on Windows
- No free plan for general users; only SketchUp for Schools is free
- Weddings, events and AI photo restyling are not mentioned
- Prices are shown billed annually; monthly-billed prices are not shown
Price: Go $10.75 USD/month per user billed annually; Pro $33.25; Studio $71.58; Pro Scan $41.58; as of October 2026 (checked 2026-10-13)
Considered, not ranked
- VenuePreview: VenuePreview is an AI wedding venue visualizer: you upload photos of your empty or undecorated venue, choose a style and colors, and get visualizations of that venue decorated, so you can compare options before spending on decor. That is a different job from building a room in design software, so it is not ranked on this list. Packages are one-time purchases, from $19.
- EventDraw: EventDraw sells enterprise 2D and 3D event diagramming to venues, stadiums and convention centres. It publishes no prices on its own site (Request a Quote), and couples are not mentioned, so it is not ranked for this buyer. EventDraw also appears in the event design software ranking.
Best for each need
A wedding layout with seating and a 3D view in one tool: Prismm
Its wedding page covers floor plans, seating charts and guest lists, and it designs in 2D and 3D.
A planner or venue already working in Cvent: Social Tables
It is Cvent Event Diagramming, with 3D walkthroughs and seating charts.
Evening lighting, stage or scenic design: Vectorworks Spotlight
It is built for lighting and stage design, with live rendering modes.
Walking through a drawn room on a small budget: RoomSketcher
Live 3D walkthroughs and 360 views come with Pro.
A one-off project without a subscription: Floorplanner
Renders and watermark removal are bought per project with one-time credits.
Seeing your own venue photos decorated in different styles: VenuePreview
It starts from your venue photos and returns decorated visualizations to compare (not ranked here, see above).
What to check before you choose
Ask the venue for a floor plan first
Most of these tools are faster when you can upload or trace a plan. Prismm and Social Tables sell professionally drawn floor plans to venues, so your venue may already have one in Cvent.
Find the plan that actually includes 3D
Prismm and Social Tables list photo-realistic 3D rendering only on Enterprise. Planner 5D keeps 360 walkthroughs for Professional. Read the plan table, not the homepage.
Count the commitment, not just the monthly price
Social Tables paid plans carry a 12-month commitment. Floorplanner sells one-time credit packs. For a single wedding, the shape of the commitment can matter more than the rate.
Budget the hours
Every tool here needs someone to place each table, chair and arch. SketchUp and Vectorworks Spotlight are professional editors; RoomSketcher and Planner 5D are easier but were designed for homes.
Decide what question you are answering
3D software answers where things go and how the room flows. If your question is which style and colors suit the venue you booked, a tool that starts from your venue photos may answer it faster. The guide to choosing between a 3D wedding planner and your venue photos explains the difference.
Questions about 3D wedding planning software
What is the best 3D wedding planning software?
On what vendors publish, Prismm, because it is the only tool here with a dedicated wedding page, it designs in 2D and 3D, and it starts at $0. Its photo-realistic 3D rendering is listed only on Enterprise, so check what the plan you choose includes.
Is there free 3D wedding planning software?
Several tools list a $0 tier: Prismm and Social Tables (1 user, 3 events, 2 diagrams per event), RoomSketcher (2 credits to start, watermarked 3D snapshots), Homestyler Basic (unlimited 1K renders) and Floorplanner (5 projects, SD watermarked exports). SketchUp has no free plan for general users.
Can I walk through my wedding venue in 3D?
Yes, if the space is rebuilt in software. Social Tables offers a 3D walkthrough of the event space, Prismm describes 3D virtual tours and recommends 3D scanning, and RoomSketcher Pro and Planner 5D Professional include walkthroughs of a room you model.
Do these tools show flowers, linens and lighting?
Partly. Prismm's floor planning page mentions linen colors, and Vectorworks Spotlight renders lighting. None of the vendors in this group mentions florals on the pages we read.
Which tool is easiest for a couple without design experience?
Prismm's wedding page is written with couples as collaborators, and RoomSketcher, Planner 5D and Homestyler are drag and drop home planners. SketchUp and Vectorworks Spotlight are professional editors with a steeper learning curve.
Why is VenuePreview not ranked?
VenuePreview is an AI wedding venue visualizer that starts from photos of your venue and returns visualizations of it decorated in the style and colors you choose. It does not compete on the criteria used here, so ranking it would not be fair to either side.
How current are these prices?
All prices were read from the vendors' own pages on 13 October 2026 and are due for a recheck on 13 November 2026. Planner 5D shows two different Premium prices on one page, and Floorplanner's subscription prices did not display, so confirm before you buy.
