# Your palette looks different on the venue walls: test it before you order

A wedding color palette generator gives you four to six swatches that go well together, picked at random, from a quiz or pulled out of a photo you upload. Swatches on a white screen are the easy part. The harder question is how those colors behave on your venue's floor, walls and tables, under its own light. VenuePreview is an AI wedding venue visualizer for that question: upload photos of the empty or undecorated venue, choose a style and your colors, and see visualizations of the room decorated in your palette before you order linens or flowers.

## What a palette generator does, and what it cannot

Palette generators work with color theory: they pick harmonious, complementary or analogous shades, lock the ones you like and shuffle the rest. Some pull colors from an image, which is handy when a bridesmaid dress or an invitation already exists. What they cannot do is account for the venue. A palette sits on top of colors that are already there: honey oak floors, red brick, a green lawn, a ballroom carpet, a sunset through west-facing windows. Those fixed colors are often the largest surfaces guests see, and they can make a soft blush look peach or a sage look gray. The swatch strip is a starting point; the room is the test.

_VenuePreview is not a color palette generator. It does not suggest palettes. It shows the colors you choose applied to decor in visualizations of your own venue._

## From swatches to a room you can judge

1. **Generate and narrow down** Use any palette tool to build two or three candidate palettes. Note each one's main color, its accent and its neutral.
2. **Pull colors from the venue itself** Look at your venue photos and name its fixed colors: floor, walls, ceiling, window frames, greenery. A palette that fights them will look busy; one that works with them will look intentional.
3. **Visualize each candidate** Upload the undecorated venue photos to VenuePreview, choose a style template and the color scheme closest to each palette, and get visualizations for each.
4. **Compare in the same frame** Because every visualization shows the same room, the only thing that changes is the decor and its colors. Pick the palette that still looks right there.
5. **Share the chosen palette** Send the visualizations to your florist, linen supplier and planner so the colors are briefed with context, not as abstract swatches.

## What VenuePreview adds to a palette

- **Your colors on your venue**: Visualizations show your venue decorated in the style and colors you choose.
- **Palettes compared**: See different color schemes and styles for the same venue and choose between them.
- **Color schemes to start from**: Choose from pre-made visual style templates and color schemes in the web app.
- **Decor that carries the color**: Visualizations show decorated elements such as table settings, lighting and floral arrangements, which is where most of a palette lives.
- **Decide before ordering**: See the decorated venue before expensive decisions on linens, flowers and rentals.
- **A picture for every vendor**: Share the visualizations with vendors, your partner and your planner.

## Keep these in mind

- **No exact shade promise**: Use visualizations to judge how a palette feels in the room. For final fabric and paint matches, ask vendors for physical samples.
- **It does not invent palettes**: Bring your candidates from a generator, a quiz or an image. VenuePreview shows them on the venue.
- **Venue colors stay**: Plan the palette around the floors, walls and architecture of your venue, since they are part of the room on the day.
- **Screens shift color**: Phones and laptops display the same color differently. Compare palettes on one screen and confirm final choices against fabric swatches in daylight.
- **Single venue per package**: Each package covers one venue upload. For more, contact hello@venuepreview.com about a tailored package.

## Palette sources and the question each leaves

| Palette source | Good for | Still unanswered |
|---|---|---|
| Random generator | Fast ideas, surprising pairings | Will it suit our venue's floor and walls? |
| Palette quiz | Matching colors to season and mood | How does it look in our light? |
| Palette from an image | Matching an existing dress or invitation | Does it hold up across a whole room? |
| Visualizations of your venue | Seeing the palette on your own venue | Shown on the venue you photographed |

## Three palette problems that only show up in the room

The first is the dominant surface. In a barn, the wood is the biggest color in every photo; in a garden, it is green; in many hotel ballrooms, it is a patterned carpet. A palette needs to sit comfortably with that surface, and you cannot see that in a swatch strip.

The second is light. Daylight through big windows cools colors down; warm tungsten fixtures push them toward yellow. A dusty blue that looked calm on your phone can look cold in a north-lit room, and ivory can look dingy next to bright white tablecloths.

The third is proportion. Generators show colors in equal blocks, but a room never uses them equally. Your main color may cover every table while your accent appears only in the flowers. Visualizing the palette on the decorated venue shows the real balance. ## Wedding color palette generator: common questions

### How do I pick wedding colors that work with my venue?

Start from the venue's fixed colors, such as floors, walls and greenery, then choose palettes that complement them. Test the shortlist by seeing the decor in your colors on photos of the venue before ordering anything.

### Can I generate a wedding palette from a photo?

Many palette tools extract colors from an uploaded image, which helps if you already have a dress, an invitation or an inspiration picture. Then check the result on your venue.

### Does VenuePreview create color palettes?

No. VenuePreview is an AI wedding venue visualizer. You choose a style and colors from pre-made style templates and color schemes, and it shows your venue decorated that way.

### Can I compare different palettes for the same venue?

Yes. Comparing styles, themes and color schemes for the same venue is the main reason couples use it.

### How many colors should a wedding palette have?

Most couples settle on a main color, one or two accents and a neutral. More than that tends to look busy once flowers, linens and the venue's own colors are all in the room.

### Should the palette change between ceremony and reception?

It can shift, but keep one thread running through both, usually the main color or the neutral. If the ceremony and reception happen in different parts of the same venue, photograph both spaces undecorated so you can check the palette works in each light.

### How fast can I see my palette on the venue?

Most visualizations are delivered within 10 to 25 minutes of submission.

### What does VenuePreview cost?

Packages are one-time purchases for a single venue. The Luxury package includes 200 visualizations and 10 style variations; Basic and Premium include fewer.
